EFEITO DOMINO 2

EFEITO DOMINO
THE DOMINO EFFECT
Tunisia – Algeria – Libia. Is there a domino effect ? is Al Queda Influencing this domino ?
I think the answer is yes to both questions.
There is no dought that the natural needs of freedom, better housing, better live style are the basis of this disturbances in these and other Arab countries, but in this kind of general disturbances in a country, usually there are minority groups that take advantage of these situations independently of the reasons behind them.
More anarchy can produce in the population the acceptance of a leadership opposed of the one in power, and we cannot forget that these are Islamic countries.
We have in the history situations where that happen. Iran is one of them
But nowadays, Al Queda controls Islamic fundamentalists groups in these countries, and this terrorist organisation aimed is to impose sharia in as much countries possible, imposing Islamism in the world.
What can the democratic countries do ? .
Besides this bipolar struggle of values were Christian and democratic countries opposed Islamic and usually non-democratic countries, there is the control of energy sources and the guaranty of supply.
It looks that we, the democratic countries, are afraid to influence these countries to move towards a democracy, afraid to loose the relationship. We prefer to maintain dictators that are on our side and the result is what we see now. We may loose the relationship.
